It is noteworthy that the incident happened close to Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah's home. The incident was reported from the village of Sanekuchi in the Borbhag Tehsil, where the man is said to have vanished after being carried away by strong currents brought on by localised heavy rain. According to sources, Nikhilesh was returning home from a market when his body was found on Friday morning.

On June 21, at Baihata Chariali in Assam, a 60-year-old man went missing on Tuesday night. Ramesh Deka, a man, was lost at night in the Kalajal River's increasing flood waters as a result of heavy rain.

On Wednesday morning, a crew from the SDRF arrived and started conducting search operations. When Deka got home from work, the incident happened. Deka pushed his scooter while he was being carried away because the roads were under water.

Over 4.9 lakh people are still experiencing flood-related hardship in 22 districts, and the situation in the state is not improving. Tamulpur district also saw one fatality, according to the daily flood report from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA).
